Barcelona is “not hopeful” about marking Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool in the January exchange window, as per Guillem Balague.
The Brazilian was the subject of various offers from Barcelona in the late spring and theory encompassing his future has escalated again in front of the January exchange window. However, Balague demands Liverpool’s position has not changed.
“Liverpool would prefer not to offer Philippe Coutinho,” Balague disclosed to Sky Sports after Barcelona’s 3-0 prevail upon Real Madrid in Saturday’s Clasico. “That is the place they stand at this moment, so Barcelona is not idealistic about the likelihood of Coutinho going there.
“Clearly they will attempt, and they need to make an offer in January, yet even Philippe Coutinho’s company are supposing it most likely won’t occur, in light of the fact that Liverpool is stating the same as what they said in the late spring: ‘We are not intrigued by offering’.”
Philippe Coutinho has been remarkable for Liverpool this season, scoring his eleventh objective of the crusade in their 3-3 draw with Arsenal on Friday Night Football. However, he isn’t Barcelona’s just huge cash exchange target.
Balague says Barcelona stay anxious to acquire Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann in the mid-year, and if that happens, it could spell the finish of their quest for Coutinho.
“Barcelona needs Greizmann, no uncertainty about it,” said Balague. “They will pay the 100m euros that he will cost from the first of June.
“They have met his family, even his sister, who cares for his money related undertakings, which is the reason Atletico Madrid have gone to FIFA and said this should happen.
“Barcelona has Griezmann as number one focus, at a similar level of Philippe Coutinho, however, I don’t figure they can get the two players.”
