Liverpool have apparently been given the green light to restore their enthusiasm for Southampton safeguard Virgil van Dijk.
The Reds were compelled to make an open expression of remorse and end their quest for van Dijk in June in the midst of recommendations of an illicit approach for the player.
While the Dutchman remains Jurgen Klopp‘s main center back target, Liverpool will just make an offer should they be welcome to by Southampton.
Also, Saints manager Mauricio Pellegrino – a previous Liverpool center back– has now indicated the protector could be permitted to leave in the New Year.
Inquired as to whether van Dijk would in any case be a Southampton player past the following exchange window, Pellegrino said on Thursday: “I don’t have the foggiest idea. I can’t control the market.
“You never know, since when we discuss cash everyone has a cost.
“The financial backing is to sign players and the greatest groups have cash to endeavor to sign players.
“I can’t choose about that. This is an inquiry for our proprietors.
“Everyone is centered around their region, to endeavor to bring the most ideal players for their club. It is something that happens each and every exchange window.
“We have a considerable measure of good players and a large portion of the groups need to sign them.”
Van Dijk is set to be contrary to Liverpool on Saturday when Southampton visit Anfield for a Premier League experience.
